Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of synthetic cfo, operated by synthetic cfo. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

The service

synthetic cfo generates synthetic ERP datasets from accounting rules. Access is invitation-based and may be subject to a plan that defines your limits (platforms, modules, volume and features).

Who may use it

synthetic cfo is a business tool intended for organisations and the professionals who work for them. By using it you confirm that you are at least 18, that you can enter into a binding agreement, and that you are using the service for business rather than personal or household purposes. The service is not directed at children.

Acceptable use

• Use the service lawfully and only for your own legitimate testing, training, evaluation and demonstration purposes.
• Do not attempt to breach, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform or its generation engine, or to access accounts or data that are not yours.
• Do not resell or redistribute access to the service itself, or present its synthetic output as real, audited, or production financial records.

What is synthetic, and what it is not

All data the engine produces is synthetic. It is generated from rules and does not describe any real company, person, vendor, customer or employee. It is intended as test and demonstration data. It is not real financial data, not audited financial statements, and nothing in the service is accounting, audit, legal, tax or investment advice. You are responsible for how you use the output.

Intellectual property

The platform, the generation engine, and all related software and content are owned by us. Subject to these terms and your plan, the synthetic datasets you generate are yours to use for your own purposes. You may not copy, decompile, or attempt to recreate the engine or its methods.

Availability and warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Fees

Paid plans are arranged directly. Any fees, billing terms and cancellation terms are as agreed with you when access is granted.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access that breaches these terms or the acceptable-use rules above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless your local law grants you rights that must apply. Questions? Email info@syntheticcfo.com.
